| Puiatti uses color, depth and light to express an intimacy with nature and an observation of natural structure. She paints primarily with oils on canvas in her Holmes studio, as well as outdoors in the fields and hills of Duchess and Ulster County. Smaller field studies created en plein aire in warm weather months give way to larger canvases painted in the studio during winter. |
“...on closer examination, whether a vase full of lilacs or a field of grass and rocks, the objects she paints seem almost to dissolve into abstraction. The play of shadow and light is her real subject, regardless of the genre.” Puiatti’s paintings hang in private collections throughout the US and Europe. American studies include: The Art Students League and The School of Visual Arts, The Woodstock School of Art, and The Byrdcliffe School of Art
